Ocean
The ocean around Greenland is strongly impacted by fresh glacial water melting from the landlocked Greenland Ice Sheet, and entering the ocean every summer. In some areas, the Glacier enters the ocean directly and here enormous pieces of ice break off. This is called the calving of icebergs.
ATAA
This ocean sample has been collected in west Greenland, close to the mouth of Ataa River. Ocean water is studied to understand how the important micro-organisms of the Arctic Ocean respond to a warming and changing climate.
KANGERLUARSUNNGUAQ (Danish: Kobbefjord)
