Ocean

The ocean around Greenland is strongly impacted by fresh glacial water melting from the landlocked Greenland Ice Sheet, and entering the ocean every summer. In some areas, the Glacier enters the ocean directly and here enormous pieces of ice break off. This is called the calving of icebergs.
